Ian McNicoll

Ian is a former Scottish family doctor, who has been involved in digital health for over 30 years, working with openEHR technologies for the last 12 years via his consultancy, freshEHR Clinical Informatics, as Co-Chair of the openEHR Foundation and as CCIO of inidus, delivering cloud-hosted clinical computing services. Current clients and past clients include the national health services of Sweden, Norway, Finland, Slovenia, Russia, England, Scotland, Malta and Wales, and a number of commercial organisations across Europe.

He was co-founder and lead developer of the ‘GP Accounts’ application used by over 3000 UK medical practices, is an INTEROPen UK Board member, an NHS Digital Innovation Associate and a member of the Apperta Foundation, open standards community.  He holds a Master’s degree in Health Informatics from University of Bath, is an Honorary Senior Research Associate at University College London and a Founding Fellow of the UK Faculty of Clinical Informatics.
